In person: Santiago de Compostela

Mari Mar Alonso Martín, Director of Climate Action at Ihobe, took part in the Which regions are leading climate and energy action in Spain? Conference, organised by the International Institute for Law and the Environment (IIDMA) in Santiago de Compostela on Monday, 13 November. Alonso took part in the session on “Multilevel Climate Governance: Intergovernmental collaboration between towns and regions to achieve climate neutrality”.

The meeting, organised in collaboration with the Directorate-General for Environmental Quality, Sustainability and Climate Change of the Second Vice-Presidency and Regional Ministry for the Environment, Territory and Housing of the Government of Galicia, had a dual purpose: to strengthen town’s climate action through a solid multilevel governance between autonomous regions and towns; and to promote land and biodiversity protection when implementing onshore and offshore renewables in Spain.
