LIFE IP Urban Klima 2050 is the Basque Country's most significant climate action project for the next few years.
It has been approved by the European Union in the area of LIFE Integrated climate change mitigation and/or adaptation projects.

To help the finalisation of the current Action Plan (2015 –2020) and to support the definition of the next Action Plans (2021-2025 and 2026-2030).

To promote the integration of the energy and climate transition in the territorial and sectorial planning activities and to analyse the effects of its integration.

To implement a series of actions (best practice, demonstration and pilot) at 3 pitot areas (urban/peri-urban, river basin and coast).

To fine-tune the citizen and administration capacities to promote the energy and climate transition.

To improve the governance in the CC field, at all administrative scales.

To multiply the impacts of the project's solutions and mobilise a wideruptake, reaching a critical mass during the project and/or in a short and medium-term perspective after the end of the IP.
THE LIFE IP Urban Klima 2050 project will operate in the three main Basque cities, as well as in other urban and rural municipalities. We also focuson the coastal towns, where 65% of the Basque population lives
