LIFE IP Urban Klima 2050 is one of the three LIFE projects selected to take part in the Third EU Clean Air Forum, organised by the European Commission. The session is to take place in Madrid on 18-19 November 2021, where it will bring together decision-makers, interested parties and experts in a one and a half day conference to reflect on the development and implementation of effective policies, projects and programmes concerning air at EU, national and local levels and to report on the ongoing review of EU standards.
Representatives of Ihobe will attend the event at the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid, where they will report on this, the biggest climate action project in the Basque Country for the coming years, which will transform the Basque territory by coordinating a total of 40 climate change adaptation and mitigation actions in a 2019-2025 time-frame. They will have the chance to share their experience of the project and answer queries on a stand at the museum itself and via an online platform.
The Forum will also feature the LIFE Arimeda project, which promotes actions to cut ammonia emissions in Mediterranean farming through innovative fertigation techniques with pig slurry; and the LIFE Gysatra project, which is developing a new technology for measuring emissions with a view to implementing a new, sustainable mobility policy based on empirical information on emissions from traffic.
Representatives of CINEA will also be available to answer queries concerning the new LIFE 2021-2027 programme and opportunities for financing concerned with clean air.
