The Basque Government presents the new Order for aid to local entities carrying out sustainable development actions

18/09/2025

An informative session will be held on 24th September to provide information on the main new features of this call and facilitate the preparation of projects eligible for subsidies.

After a year without any calls, the Order of 5th September 2025 will be published in the Official Journal of the Basque Country on 23rd September, establishing the bases and call for proposals for subsidies to local entities carrying out actions to promote sustainable development.

Interested entities will have one month to submit their actions. In order to publicise the details of the call for proposals, find out about the new features and facilitate the preparation of projects eligible for subsidies, the Basque Government is organising an informative session through its Directorate for Natural Heritage and Adaptation to Climate Change.

The session will be held on the day after the publication of the Order, on 24th September from 10am to 11.45am. It will be aimed at all municipal staff in local entities working on the preparation and processing of actions eligible for subsidies under this Order.

The Director of the Basque Government’s Directorate for Natural Heritage and Adaptation to Climate Change, Adolfo Uriarte, will welcome attendees. Mikel Zubiria, the legal advisor of the Directorate for Natural Heritage and Adaptation to Climate Change, will then provide details of the main new features and content of the Order. Finally, the Director of Climate Action in the Basque Government's Public Company for Environmental Management, Ihobe, will be responsible for explaining some of the keys to formulating applications and foreseeing corrections.

The session will be held in person (at the headquarters of the Basque Government in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Lakua) and on-line. It will also be recorded so that anyone interested but is unable to attend can watch it afterwards.
