Presentation: State of the climate in the Basque Country. Report 2025
In person: Estación Marítima de Getxo (Olatua) - Bilbaoport
Climate change generates impacts, such as flooding due to rising sea levels, heat waves and an increase in extreme events. The first ‘Report on the State of the Climate in the Basque Country’ prepared by the public company Ihobe and the Basque Meteorological Agency-Euskalmet, analyses the main findings on climate change in the Basque Country, whose climatology is characterised by several climate zones (Atlantic, Mediterranean, transition) and affected, among other variables, by the fact that it borders the Bay of Biscay.
It also analyses how the energy and climate transition is being carried out in our territory. This conference will analyse the impact of climate change in the Basque Country from different perspectives, and a debate will be held at a round table.
The conference is mainly aimed at researchers in areas related to climate change, as well as public and private entities involved in the management of areas affected by global warming, such as urban planning, coastline, agriculture, water, etc. The conference will be held in the Basque Country, and will be open to the public and private sectors.
Note: The conference will be held at the cruise terminal in Getxo (Bizkaia).
