The project participates in the Cooperation Committee of LIFE-SIP projects to share results and explore synergies in climate change adaptation.

The LIFE IP Urban Klima 2050 project took part in the session of the Cooperation Committee of LIFE-SIP projects in the Pyrenees, a space promoted by the Pyrenean Climate Change Observatory (OPCC), with the aim of strengthening collaboration between large integrated LIFE projects focusing on climate action and adaptation to climate change.

Within the framework of this session, held on 4 February, Iñigo Urrutikoetxea Alvarez, Ihobe’s climate action expert, presented the main lines of work of LIFE IP Urban Klima 2050, the largest climate action project developed in the Basque Country. During his presentation, he explained the project’s goals, the territory and the actors involved, as well as the results already obtained and those expected, emphasising the demonstrative and transferable nature of the actions.

Urrutikoetxea explained that Urban Klima 2050 works in areas of direct application in the Pyrenees, promoting the integration of the climate perspective into planning, the development of adaptation and mitigation pilot projects, new models of climate governance and the empowerment of administrations and citizens. Thanks to these strategic lines, the project is a benchmark for the exchange of experiences within the LIFE programme

After the round of presentations – in which projects such as LIFE Artisan, LIFE SNAP Biodiv’France, LIFE-NAdapta and LIFE Eco-Adapt 50 also participated – the day continued with a collaborative workshop aimed at identifying synergies, shared methodologies and possible joint actions, such as common events and future lines of cooperation.
