Ekoetxea has put the planet up for sale on Wallapop to raise awareness

A fictitious advert on the popular shopping app launches a powerful environmental message: the planet is not for sale, it needs to be protected.

The Ekoetxea network of environmental centres, managed by Ihobe and reporting to the Basque Government, has surprised with an unprecedented publicity campaign: an advert on Wallapop offering the planet Earth for €0. Under the title "Planet for sale", the campaign aims to provoke urgent reflection on the state of the environment and to activate citizen engagement.

The advert, which simulates a real sale, includes a description warning about problems such as climate change, pollution or deforestation. On opening the chat, users discover the real purpose: an invitation to join the Ekoetxea Erronka challenge, an initiative that promotes sustainable habits, such as reducing the use of plastic, consuming local products or looking after natural spaces.

The goal is ambitious: to collect 10,000 individual pledges in order to show that improving the planet is within everyone's reach. The campaign is being promoted exclusively within the Wallapop ecosystem, without resorting to social media or conventional advertising, turning a consumer space into a channel for environmental activism.

To participate, simply search for "Planet for sale" on Wallapop and follow the instructions. If there is one thing that should be priceless, it is the planet on which we live.
