04/07/2024 - 05/07/2024 :
Education for Sustainability 2030 School: monitoring progress through impact measurement

In person: Palacio Miramar Jauregia. Donostia/San Sebastián

Education for sustainability is a key tool in order to achieve the ecosocial change and transformation that the fulfilment of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals and the Basque Green Deal define for the sustainable Basque Country of the future. The Environmental Education School that Ihobe organises annually (in collaboration with the UPV-EHU Summer Courses Foundation) is an opportunity for agents and professionals to meet, discuss challenges and share solutions.

In this third edition, you are invited to reflect on the socio-environmental impact of our activity. Is environmental education fulfilling the goals and changes we are pursuing in society?

How do we know if we are moving along an effective path? Can we identify what works and what doesn't? Do we apply the lessons learned from impact assessments or measurements when designing a new programme or adapting an intervention? Do we steer management decisions based on the impact results achieved?

To answer these and other questions of interest, we will delve deeper into the possibilities that socio-environmental impact measurement and management offers us. We will discuss different methodological frameworks to measure the change we are generating, provide practical examples of impact assessment and measurement experiences developed in the field of environmental education, learn how to define a theory of change and analyse the usefulness of these approaches for learning and innovation.
