To make the 'Plus 55' group aware of the importance of knowing the impact of climate change locally and in situ, along with the significance and necessary impetus of climate resilience actions.

The 'Plus 55' Programme was set up in 2003 in order to encourage different social groups to come together and participate, and to maximise the use of the community services. This group organises different cultural and educational activities. Workshops on the environment are part of its educational programme. The aim of this activity has been to bring the climate change issue to our territory and to highlight the administration's climate change mitigation and adaptation initiatives by means of the circular economy or improving carbon sinks. Furthermore, the participants also learnt about how the effect of climate change is analysed on a local scale, by understanding the changes that we are already seeing in our territory, and those that will occur in the future according to different climate change scenarios. Finally, the main actions driven within the LIFE IP Urban Klima 2050 project - under which this activity falls - were also discussed.
This group is an essential asset, as it is very aware of climate change and already follows climate change mitigation practices. Their experience and expertise can help to discover new measures and to raise awareness among other citizen segments, such as young people.
