The prestigious international organisation has highlighted the integrated approach of the Basque Country's most ambitious climate action project, which combines mitigation and adaptation to climate change in urban areas, river basins and coasts.
Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), one of the most relevant international organisations in the fight against climate change, has mentioned the LIFE IP Urban Klima 2050 project as an example of comprehensive climate action. In a recent publication, CDP underlines the dual objective of Urban Klima 2050: the mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions and the adaptation of the Basque territory to the impacts of climate change.
As the CDP article highlights, the project, led by Ihobe and funded by the European Union, is being developed in three key areas: urban and peri-urban areas, river basins and coastal zones. These strategic areas have been selected for their high vulnerability to climate change and their relevance for the resilience of the territory.
This mention by the CDP confirms the relevance of LIFE IP Urban Klima 2050 as a reference in climate action at an international level and highlights the Basque Country's commitment to climate resilience and neutrality by 2050.
The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is an international non-profit organisation that encourages companies, cities, states and regions to disclose their environmental impact and manage their climate action transparently. With more than 20 years of experience, CDP has the world's largest environmental disclosure system and works to transform global markets by promoting sustainability and the reduction of emissions in all sectors.
