The project foresees the installation of photovoltaic solar self-consumption systems in Bóveda, Lalastra, Valluerca and Salinillas de Buradón with a budget of €345,000.
Alava Provincial Council has approved the drafting and implementation of projects to install photovoltaic solar self-consumption systems in the villages of Bóveda, Lalastra, Valluerca and Salinillas de Buradón. With a budget of €345,000, the project aims to promote renewable energy generated locally. This action is part of the LIFE IP Urban Klima 2050 project, under C.4.4 Driving renewable energies.
The initiative arises following the analysis carried out by the Provincial Council in 2022 to identify suitable rural areas for self-sufficiency demonstration projects. In 2024, the preliminary drafts were drawn up and are now the final step is being taken towards their implementation.
The Provincial Council highlights that this action reinforces "the use of renewable energy produced in the Territory" and promotes solutions adapted to the local reality, increasing resilience to climate change in rural communities.
In addition to reducing emissions, this intervention aims to demonstrate the technical and economic feasibility of decentralised generation models. By doing so, the Provincial Council contributes to the energy transition and increases the autonomy and sustainability of rural areas.
