24/11/2026 - 25/11/2026 :
ADAPT AKTION Euskadi 2050. Forum on Solutions to Climate Change Adaptation

In person: Bizkaia Aretoa · Bilbao

The LIFE IP Urban Klima 2050 project and the Ihobe public company will organise ADAPT AKTION Euskadi 2050. Forum on Solutions to Climate Change Adaptation in Bilbao on 24 and 25 November, which will mark the close of the aforementioned European project and open a new stage for climate action in the Basque Country in order to continue working towards resilience.

It will be an opportunity to share the main results, lessons learned and experiences developed throughout the seven years of the Urban Klima 2050 project, in which 40 actions have been promoted with the participation of 23 partner organisations.

Solutions and strategies for adaptation to climate change will be shared, while generating new opportunities for collaboration in order to strengthen the resilience of the region and move towards a Basque Country that is better prepared to face climate impact.

ADAPT AKTION Euskadi 2050 will bring together institutional representatives, technical staff, social agents and professionals related to climate action and adaptation, in a space for exchange and reflection on the challenges and opportunities of the future.

The programme will include inspiring speakers, debates and technical visits to pilot projects to learn about the most outstanding pilot actions implemented within the framework of the project.

Technical visits to the Urban Klima 2050 pilot projects

Simultaneous technical visits will take place on Wednesday, November 25 to view the actions carried out as part of the LIFE IP Urban Klima 2050 project in the three provinces of the Basque Country. The visits will provide an opportunity to see first-hand some of the climate change adaptation solutions implemented over the project’s seven-year history. Limited places.

Those attending must choose one of the itineraries during the registration process. The organisers will provide a transport service from Bilbao for each route, which will set off at 8:30 am and is due to return at around 2:00 pm. Anyone who decides to carry out the visit on their own must make their own way to all of the sites included in their chosen itinerary and also organise their own travel between them.

Araba | Green infrastructure and agrobiodiversity to improve environmental quality and the resilience of peri-urban areas

The visit will include the following sites:

Jundiz Park (Vitoria-Gasteiz). Júndiz demonstrates how degraded and potentially contaminated land can be restored and transformed into a new green corridor that captures carbon and provides ecosystem services.

Basaldea (Vitoria-Gasteiz). Basaldea demonstrates how agrobiodiversity can strengthen agriculture, increase its resilience to climate change and integrate it harmoniously into the rural landscape.
