- On 8 and 9 November, the conference, organised by CINEA, NEEMO and the LIFE Coast Climate Challenge project will bring together different EU-funded projects to share best practices in regional and municipal climate action.
The LIFE IP Urban Klima 2050 project will present its multilevel and local governance actions at ‘LIFE Innovates Climate Action’ international conference to be held on 8 and 9 November 2022. The conference will be run in hybrid format (in-person at Aarhus (Denmark) and online).
The conference, organised by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA), and by the LIFE NEEMO and the LIFE Coast to Coast Climate integrated project monitoring teams, will bring together different LIFE projects and programmes funded by the European Union to discuss how innovation can improve climate action.
On Wednesday 9 November, Iñigo Urrutikoetxea Alvarez, a member of the Urban Klima 2050 coordinator team, will take part in the session on ‘Improving multilevel and local governance by innovating the system’. During his speech, Urrutikoetxea will go over the different local governance actions to be implemented in the project between 2019 and 2025 and whose aim is to transform the Basque territory by means of climate change mitigation and adaptation.
During the different sessions held over the two days, the speakers will analyse systemic innovation to avoid greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate change, with the focus on local and regional solutions. Another goal is to foster the sharing of best practices and knowledge, and facilitate the setting up of networks and synergies among the participating projects.
